I think Peterson’s wines generally suck and disappoiint, frankly. Especially the low to middle level wines. Ever since he sold out a few years back to Constellation, the quality has suffered. You could easily go into most shops and choose better zins with eyes closed.

Wow! Why don’t you say what you really mean?

We’ll have to agree to disagree — which is fine, because everyone’s palate is different (thank goodness). IMHO, the Vintners Blend Ravenswood wines deliver on the expectations of someone who normally likes extracted and jammy, Aussie Shiraz-like $10 bottles.

On the other hand, if one is expecting complexity and cellar-worthy wines from that series, one will absolutely be disappointed.

They may not appeal to all palates, but it’s hard to argue that Ravenswood consistently bottles big, jammy wines.

In fairness, I should go try a bottle of Vintner’s Blend because it’s been a while. I love your site. Keep up the good work.
